In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Adventure Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "An unusual meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of prohibited practices and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.

The mission focuses on "strange trials and a monstrous foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Unique arms
• Survey Corps vehicle

Latest Free Story Update

This update also adds the game's newest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
